About Stonegate GC At Solivita - Oaks (Poinciana, FL)
As the focal point of the popular community at Solivita, Stonegate Golf Club is a great example of how a course can be enjoyable for players of all ages and abilities. Designer Ron Garl laid the course out at over 7000 yards from the back tees for the "big hitters," but also ingeniously mapped out three more forgiving sets of tees. With water on eight holes and free-forming collars around the greens, there's a definite emphasis on the short game. After all, golf's most famous adage is "drive for show and putt for dough." Always meticulously groomed with rolling, tree-lined fairways, natural vegetation and wetlands, and a habitat to the native wildlife, what's not to like?! Whether playing 18 or 36 holes with its sister course, The Cypress, you'll treasure the memory of these two fine, challenging courses. Located in Poinciana, about 25 minutes south of US192 in Kissimmee and the Disney area.

David (Levittown, NY) says:
Oaks is the prettier of the two. A comfortable round with generous landing areas -- but not an "easy" course by any means. If you're in for 36 holes, play both Oaks and its sister course for a fine 36 holes.

A good course. Nothing spectacular, but would play again.

Only problem with these two courses, they only had one drink cart for both. Good shape.

Jonathan (Nashua, NH) says:
This is suppose to be the easier of the two at Solivita??? Well that might be true if you are trying to hit driver on every hole and a bunch of long irons or hybrids. Other than that, this course is pretty long, pretty tough and reminds you that perhaps playing the tips should be left for the pros only. Great layout with some interesting holes. Play this first before Cypress. You can spray the ball on every tee, save yourself with that new hybrid you bought for the trip, and possibly make a few putts. (the greens are trure on both course). Fun course to say the least, maybe play the Pinnicle balls vs the Pro V cause you might need the distance off the tee but the spin around green probably will get you into more trouble (and cost you $4 a ball) than they are worth.

Paul (Middletown, CT) says:
This is terrific course, we play it every year. It is fair but, if you don't play the right tees for your game, it will eat your lunch. Very nice condition.

This is the third time here. Always enjoy this course along with Cypress.

Jerry (Toronto, ON) says:
Pace of play was great everywhere likely because the cold weather resulted in empty courses. We were able to finish most rounds in under 4 hours because there was no one in front of or behind us.

Craig (Greenfield, WI) says:
Great value. Good conditions. Nice layout. Playable, but a challenge. I thought it was odd that the temps were in the 80s, on a weekend, and we never saw a beverage cart all day.
